The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry title that players explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating violence and madness with similar enthusiasm, all while telling gripping, politically driven stories. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose work have exemplified all of those qualities.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' style by having a new setting and group of personalities in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant trust and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Every title is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of humanity through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our mutual bold, daring style to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
