Donald Trump has threatened to intervene in the Islamic Republic if its authorities kill demonstrators, resulting in warnings from high-ranking figures in Tehran that any American interference would overstep a definitive limit.

Through a online statement on Friday, the former president stated that if Iran were to shoot and kill protesters, the US would “come to their rescue”. He added, “we are locked and loaded, and ready to go,” without clarifying what that might mean in reality.

Protests Continue into the New Week Amid Financial Crisis

Demonstrations across the nation are now in their latest phase, marking the most significant in several years. The current unrest were catalyzed by an sharp drop in the national currency on recently, with its value plummeting to about 1.4m to the US dollar, further exacerbating an existing financial crisis.
