Rob Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards along with O'Neil represent the initial candidates under consideration to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the squad's 10-match winless beginning to the top-flight season.

And both candidates - each of whom have historic links to the club - are among the names to be considered by the club ownership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would pose a possible hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the former Luton manager - who played more than 100 of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is said to have backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the search of hiring a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a surprising choice given he was released by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham player is currently unemployed which means Wolves would not need to pay any compensation.
